Saturday, October 5, 2002:  JOSE QUINTANA, 74, of Las Vegas, NM., died Wednesday at his home following an extended illness.  He was born in Trementina on Dec. 26,1927, to Eusebio Quintana and Isabel Duran Quintana. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.  He was a rancher most of his life.  A lifelong Catholic, he was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church.

PETRONILA TRUJILLO, 88, of Trementina and most recently of Albuquerque died Monday Born Feb. 24,1914,to the late Juan B. Estrada and Laura Gonzales, she was a member of a pioneer ranching family, as she and her husband, Carlos Trujillo, were ranchers in the Trementina area all their lives.  A graduate of the Normal University, known today as Highlands University she was a teacher in San Miguel County for many years.  She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carlos; sister, Laura Estrada; and brother-in-law, Cristobal Trujillo.  She is survived by her daughter, Laura DeVargas of Albuquerque; son, Carlos Trujillo and wife, Consuelo, of Las Vegas, NM; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters, Carrie Pacheco and husband, Carlos, of Albuquerque; Carlota Trujillo of Las Vegas, NM.  Mary Koehen of Kansas, and Beatrice Ensz and husband, Eldon, of Georgia;  brother, Lazaro Estrada and wife, Bertha, of Denver; Stepmother, Juanita Hughes of Tucumcari; 11 half-brothers and sisters; and many other relatives and friends.

 SEVERA MARIA ARCHULETA, 95, of Tulosa died Tuesday, June 13.

 She was born in Trementina to the late Hilario and Carmelita Encinias.She moved to Tulosa at a young age where she wed Salomon Archuleta and raised their 12 children.She was known for her love, compassion, and devotion for her family and those that were a part of her life.  She is survived by her sons and daughters,Telesfor, Alicia, Geneva, Margarito, Carmen, Jose, Erminio, Fernando, Salomon Jr, and Petra; 25 grandchildren; sisters, Corina Lopez, Rosa Vigil, Emma Sanchez; brother, Hilario Gonzales; and many other relatives and friends.  Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today, June 16 at the Immaculate Concepcion Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 17,at the same church followed by a gathering for family and friends at the Civic Center for a meal.
